Le Jardin des Poètes

Côte d'Azur Blog I.

We had the opportunity to visit the French Riviera, or as the French say, Côte d'Azur, several times. The area from Menton to Marseille is one that you just can’t get bored of. There are several small towns and historical cities to be enjoyed. One of the best places we’ve seen so far is the exotic town of Antibes. As our landlord stated last year, “the best place on the Côte d'Azur.” And we must agree. It has everything you expect and more: nice restaurants and bakeries where you can satisfy your craving for French croissants and crêpes, refreshing beaches, hidden gems, and plenty of specialty cafés.

The inspiring old town has attracted several artists, from Picasso to Victor Hugo, and the charming Cap D’Antibes is also mentioned in Hemingway’s prose. Here you can enjoy the azure-blue sea in a pleasant and calming environment without the hustle of rush hour in Nice, while still experiencing the Parisian, turn-of-the-century elegance of Cannes. If you’re here, please visit Le Jardin des Poètes, or the Poet’s Garden; you won’t forget the smell.
