The White Lotus Season 4: Bonjour to France

The White Lotus Season 4: Bonjour to France

If you’ve been following The White Lotus, you know the show treats viewers not just to sharp satire and unforgettable characters, but to jaw-dropping luxury destinations. From secret beaches in Hawaii to stately villas in Sicily and exotic Thai islands, each season has felt like a mini vacation. So where is Season 4 taking us? The answer is très chic: France.

After seasons set in the Pacific, Mediterranean and Southeast Asia, the fourth installment of the anthology is confirmed to head to France — specifically the French Riviera and Paris.

Côte d’Azur: Saint-Tropez’s Château de la Messardière

The biggest news on where the cameras are rolling is the choice of Château de la Messardière — a 19th-century palace turned five-star hotel perched above Saint-Tropez Bay on the French Riviera.

Today, the property is part of the ultra-luxury Airelles Collection and regularly hosts guests looking for that old-world glamour mixed with Riviera sunshine.

Historic roots

The estate was originally built in the 19th century as a lavish wedding gift from wealthy cognac merchant Gabriel Dupuy d’Angeac to his daughter Louise and her husband. Over time it became famed for hosting Parisian high-society receptions and ‘Gatsby-esque’ parties in the Roaring Twenties.

Hotel rebirth: After falling into decline, it was carefully restored in 1989 and revived as a luxury hotel. In 2019 it was acquired by the luxury hospitality group Airelles, and after extensive renovations, it reopened in 2021 with palace status — a mark of top-tier quality in France.

Luxury today: The 86 rooms and suites offer garden or sea views, with multiple restaurants, bars, a high-end spa and beach club access. The property combines Mediterranean, Florentine and classic French elegance with modern wellness and dining.

Unlike the Four Seasons resorts of previous White Lotus seasons, this château brings French Riviera heritage and palace ambience as part of its storytelling canvas.

Filming there is slated to take place from April through October 2026, so expect lots of sun-soaked scenes that lean into the region’s iconic beauty. Saint-Tropez isn’t just another pretty seaside town — it’s one of the original icons of Mediterranean glamour. Once a sleepy fishing village, it became a hotspot for artists, celebrities and high society in the mid-20th century, drawing jet-set culture long before luxury reality TV put it on global screens. Its beaches, yachts, perfumed pines and light-dappled streets have made it a symbol of French Riviera indulgence for decades.

Oui, Paris Too

While the Saint-Tropez estate will anchor the season, sources also point to Parisian scenes being in the mix.

Paris offers a much different energy from the Riviera: metropolitan elegance, historic boulevards and café culture, which could give the story a dynamic contrast.

Over the years, The White Lotus has used its exotic locales almost like another character in the narrative. Season 4’s French setting ups the ante — rather than the lush tropics or cobbled Italian streets, we get glamour that’s both classic and modern.

Saint-Tropez delivers the ultimate coastal luxury backdrop, where every scene could be a postcard.

Paris introduces the potential for cultural interplay, high fashion, and maybe even a bit of historical grandeur (and chaos) on top of the series’ usual guest/staff dynamics.

Why This Feels So Special for Je suis yours truly

As you probably know by now, we have a soft spot for the French Riviera — the light, the colors, the slow lunches, the glamour that never feels loud. So when the news broke that The White Lotus is heading to Saint-Tropez and Château de la Messardière, we genuinely couldn’t be happier.

Seeing places we already love appear in one of our favorite TV shows feels a bit surreal. Those familiar Mediterranean views, the cypress trees, the elegant terraces overlooking the sea — suddenly they’re not just travel memories or inspiration boards anymore, but part of a story watched by millions. And honestly? That’s pure bliss.

There’s something deeply satisfying about watching a show that gets the atmosphere of the Riviera: the beauty, the privilege, the contradictions, the quiet drama behind perfect façades. Saint-Tropez isn’t just a backdrop, it has a personality, and The White Lotus choosing it feels like a love letter to everything that makes the Côte d’Azur so magnetic.

For us, it’s also a reminder of why we keep coming back to this region, creatively and emotionally. The Riviera continues to inspire our aesthetics, our moodboards, and the feeling we want to share through Je suis yours truly. Seeing it framed through cinema-level storytelling only deepens that connection.

So yes — we’ll be watching Season 4 with extra excitement, probably pausing way too often to say “we’ve been there”, “look at that light”, or “this is so Saint-Tropez.”

When to Expect It

While HBO hasn’t announced an exact release date yet, production timelines put Season 4’s premiere likely in late 2026 or early 2027.
