Why should I wear a city's name on my T-shirt?

It has always been fashionable to wear the name of a place, a country or a city on a minimalist, statement-like piece of clothing. For example a t-shirt or a sweater with French text on it... But is it still a statement, or just the easiest way to sell a feeling? We have a few things to say about this.
To those who love to travel, visiting another place has, or at least we think that it has, two outcomes. First, you fall in love with a place and get the urge to move there. Yes, that is a cliché, but it tells something not just about the place, but about you, the visitor, as well. What you want, how you've been living, something that you instinctively love — a place you'd love. Not a country or a city, but a space with its unique mixture of culture and geography.

The other outcome is much more prosaic, or perhaps less interesting: loving a place without the urge to move there. You love that spot, but you want to leave there for further visits, maybe, or just... leave it there, while still loving it.
The question is: which place's name would you wear on a piece of clothing, the former or the latter? The answer needn't be decisive. Both can be a metaphor, both can mean something that's not about a trend, but about something you want to express. Wearing the name of Paris on your chest is about conveying something Parisian that can be a familiar metaphor to many. Wearing the name of smalltown on the beach of the Mediterranean (for example Antibes, Menton, Éze) that is not the most famous city of the world also has a meaning. Something personal, perhaps. Something that doesn't have to be touristy or cliché.

But you know what? Being a bit touristy or cliché is also OK. Because going on a trip and having big, heavy feelings about it is normal, and it can be deceptive. Every travel experience can be life-altering. And also, longing for a place where you've never been, or where you once travelled and want to return, is an experience that is good and big enough to be expressed.
We think having a name of a city, or we'd say, a space, on your outfit is a statement. But it's up to you what you want to state.
We just provide you with the options.
